I have had a Stag Model 6 with 24" stainless bull barrel for years. It is rock solid on a rest, and has turned in some excellent groups. With a Vortex Viper 6.5-20x44 scope mounted, it weighs a ton, but has accounted for more than a few gophers, prairie dogs and rock chucks. It does provide a nice boost in velocity vs. shorter barrels, but still lags 100 fps or so behind my 26" Remington SPS Varmint, probably due to its 1 in 8" twist compared to the 1 in 12" in the Remington. Both of them shoot my favorite 40 gr tipped bullets just fine, and the Stag functions well with Fiocchi Extrema 40 gr V-Max factory ammo, as well as comparable handloads. I can understand why most prefer the handier 18" or 20" barrels, (I have one of each, too), but when I want to shoot small groups on paper, or hammer gophers at 200 yards, or rock chucks at 300, the Stag always goes along for the ride.

Stags shoot awesome. I'm surprised you haven't posted your groups in the black rifle challenge here. No flies on the stag for sure, but to say a 24" barrel will outshoot a shorter barreled rifle, that begs for proper submission in the correct thread. Just sayin..
