The game Camera is up and running. However, it looks like they have plowed up their food plot. The filed is now mostly dirt. It will be interesting to see if Elk will come into the field this year.

I bet they reseeded it. give it a couple weeks and I bet it looks way different.
They say everything happens for a reason. For me that reason is usually because I've made some bad decisions that I need to pay for.

24 hour Campfire Members; The elk field is indeed brown and looking as if has been lightly tilled and re-seeded. The surrounding perimeter is green and lush in vegetation and hopefully the apple trees at the far end are producing fruit for the wildlife. It has been a dry summer for Pa, but recently we have seen rains from the remainder of the Louisiana hurricane. Early mornings and late evenings will be the best viewing. Enjoy ! HH

On 1 hand I love this and on the other I hate it. Once it gets closer to the rut I waste waayy to much time watching. I really do enjoy it,

9/5/20 7:56pm The bull walks out of camera view. But at 7:57 pm the coloring of the green brown field changed to shades of grey. I wonder what happens to cause that color change .... night lighting and lens change ??? HH

They had a close-up of a cow chewing, then suddenly she ran out of the frame and a nice bull stepped in, gave a big bugle, and took off after her. Pretty dang cool. That food plot is already showing some growth.
Still, the VA camera has had more elk, up to about 30. Be even better if the fuggin' tourists would stay back. Nothing on the TN cam yet but a couple of turkeys.

9/13/20 2:01 pm Nice green up on the Pa field now. Hope this new food growth pulls in more elk. The prime viewing season is approaching usually around the 18th, we need some cooler weather to kick in the rut activity. HH

Very chilly this morning and cooler temps in the forecast, I’d assume an increase in rut activity. I live a bit over an hour away but plan to finally make a visit to the elk center and hope to hear some bugling bulls
