I'm sure I've had that done to me a few times. Don't bother to watch GB anymore for several reasons.

Bearschlayerx2, If you are a Kid Rock fan PM me and I'll tell you of his music videos I had a part in. I'm bad about high jacking threads and am trying to reform so won't go into it here.

Here is what most likely happened.

The shill bidder, his "Buddy" ended up winning the auction and that wasn't part of the plan. "Buddy", went one bid too high.

Obviously since his "Buddy" never had any intention of purchasing the gun, and was just doing his friend the seller a favor.......the seller had to relist it.

Hopefully, the seller had to pay the commission on it anyway.

Did anyone here bid a realistic bid, i.e. something over 80% of the actual worth? If not what is the point?

Admittedly so.

Truth is I have no idea.

But my hypothesis makes perfect sense.

The point is, why not? Harmless fun in speculating. We humans are a gossipy lot. Besides, such banter may well serve a newbie to the auction scene regarding the pitfalls of same.

All ya gotta do is ask. From the seller:

Yeah everyone’s been asking me this . I guess I shoulda put it in the add . The guy claims he meant to bid on another gun not this one so he sent me $200 for the selling fees and hassle . I don’t know if that’s true or not but I agreed to it . So it’s been posted for sale again

He meant to bit $2962 on another gun?

oooooooooook.

Could be the would be buyer just realized when he sobered up that $200 was cheaper than 2962. That's also a very good possibility.

Going once!, Going Twice!, sold for $3005 plus $75.00 shipping, and it doesn't have a Savage medallion on the grip cap, add $100.00 for that. The high bidder had a "double stack" bid also, so I don't think it was the seller's brother-in-law bidding this time.

Great sale, 7mm-08s in a 99 are hot!
