Mil-scale diamonds would be nice...

There are lots and lots of targets online that you can print for free from Targetz.

Yes, they are slightly more expensive but not much.

For long range shooting, I print 2 of these on 8.5x11 paper and tape them together. Each square is 2".
For a target stand, I use an old real estate sign frame. I tape a piece of cardboard over it and tape the targets to that. You can appropriate a sign frame from any house that's sold. The realtors don't normally recover them. They leave them up for advertising until the home buyer gets tired of looking at it and trashes it.

I get some neon colored poster board and clear packing tape from the dollar store and a dollar can of black spray paint from WM and make homemade shoot-em/see-um targets. Cover the entire poster with the tape, spray it with the paint, let dry and put a paster target on it (picked up from the ones left at the range), This saves me a lot of walking at the longer ranges as they are easy to see at distances. If you get a large sheet fold it and cut it into 4 pieces. Cheap and easy.

Or just throw 1/2" washers in the air and show everyone how good you are........

Don't laugh. I know somebody who can do that. He's a member here, but doesn't post any more.

Butcher paper, Sharpie, a wooden pallet and T post for sighting in. Otherwise I just shoot gongs made out of old disc blades, shoot for the middle and see what you have. Never seen an animal with a target on it.

Winner!

Any paper will do. Plate, printer paper, butcher paper, cardboard, etc.

The 'X' makes a great aiming point for crosshairs.

Price is right, no expensive printer ink, readily availible

Helluva nice guy too, Paul. I know him well.

It's a shame how many good guys have abandoned this site.

Okay, anybody else want a couple of the ones I posted? Some going out tomorrow. Drop a PM with your mailing addy. I'll mail two to a customer.

The xeroxed supply I have is a bit light. You may wish to darken the central diamond yourself to make these your Master Copy. Then duplicate them in any quantity you like.

These are great as 100-yard rifle targets, but also make very good 25-yd pistol targets, I have learned. A front sight fits very nicely on the diamond.

Edit to add: AND these are easy to 3-hole punch and file for recording your reloads success or failure.

As I'm reading, I've used most of what has been mentioned. Pizza boxes, printer paper with sharpie X's, little boxes, big boxes, others reactive dots, fresh targets that someone left.
Printed some to try out the new printer and make sure it works. Going to get one of RockyRaab's and make some copies. Then off to the range once the new Kimber gets back with a repaired safety. I know, an expensive rifle shouldn't need repair, but I think it will be a schweeet little rifle for my daughter, who shares its name.
Thanks all for the ideas and websites.
Jon

I buy rolls of white paper, which is available in any width, from Amazon. I have boxes of florescent dots in 1" - 2" - 3". Just slap a few dots on a length of paper and you're good to go. Very inexpensive and you can see ALL the bullet holes even from 400yds because there is no black areas on the targets.

Typing this once is easier than to all, but for those who asked for them, I mailed them today.

No payment wanted - this cost me only a stamp. (Thanks for offering!)
