Yes it originated in the '40ss.
It 1st appeared when I celebrating my 4th birthday attempted to blow out the candles on my cake. The noctuctous gasses from my mouth blew the walls out. After that I was never presented a birthday cake with candles. I fixed it for you..

This brings to mind a couple who were friends of my parents. One night, they were all watching television when Mrs. Friend fell asleep. She wore a hearing aid, which was much needed. Her loving husband got up, turned off the sound on the television, quietly explained his plan to my folks, then sat back down, and gently nudged his wife's chair with his foot. When she woke up, they all watched the silent television, mouthing words to each other while making gestures. Mrs. Friend spend a great deal of time fiddling with her hearing aids, smiling, and nodding at the "conversation" going on around her before someone could no longer hold in the laughter.
Not a real member - just an ordinary guy who appreciates being able to hang around and say something once in awhile.
