OP plainsman456 Campfire Outfitter P Joined: Feb 2009 Posts: 11,920 Plains,Texas	We have an Arizona ash tree in the front yard. It was planted back in the 30's when the CCC was going strong planting break trees around the south plains. This year is the first year that it has put seeds on. Don't know if it is a waste of time but i am going to catch as many as i can to try to plant next year. Anyone done anything like that?

I used to work with an 80 year old man who was bragging one day about having 50 year shingles put on the roof of his house. There's optimism. I'll be damned if a tornado didn't get it shortly after. I asked him if they honored the warranty. He was not amused.

If this old tree dies it will be sawed up and i believe there is a lot of board feet in this thing. Maybe this type tree can live some more.

If so I'd wait another 10 years before planting. Hopefully they will have dies out by then. They say everything happens for a reason. For me that reason is usually because I've made some bad decisions that I need to pay for.

Middle-aged ‘kids’ sell their parent’s house, land, and contents so fast your head will spin. That’s how we get good deals on cars, boats, and firearms. Susie Methwhore doesn’t give two shîts about 6 apple trees behind Nana’s house. *at least that is my observation in most instances around here. That’s also how I acquired several hundred mason jars for a dollar -a-dozen.

They say that they fall off in October-November so i will be saving them and will cycle them in warm cold like the pros say to do. Even if just a few do sprout and grow it will be worth the time/effort i think.
