Had it done in 04', only regret was not doing it earlier. I'm still good to go 16 years later, but I do need readers which they told me I would. No biggie there. Some of the best money I ever spent.

I had it done 7 years ago, monovision. Hurt my depth perception some but didn't notice it long. Needing mild readers now for continued reading. Not bad for turning 67 in a couple weeks. Maybe could use a tune up, but 7 years with no damn bi-focals has been great.

I had the first eye done in 1996, the second in 1997. I was in my early 30's. LASIK was not covered by insurance back then and I paid for it through my employer's FLEX program. It took 2 years as it was $2200/eye and FLEX was limited to $3500/year. I did it as I was not supposed to wear contacts for work and I was beginning to get eye infections from some of the things I was in contact with. I have not had an infection since.

As mentioned by others, I had a little issue with night vision. Oncoming headlights would be kind of bright and have halos around them. I would see halos around street signs and other reflective objects too. There are glasses one can get to mitigate this but it hasn't been bad enough for me to consider them.

I had to start using reading glasses around 2015. It started in low light conditions at first but now use them about half the time depending on lighting, font size and type, tiredness, and back lighting or contrast if using a computer. I don't think I began using reading glasses earlier than many as I can still read a book or newspaper without them if the lighting is normal or better.

I didn't have astigmatism but wife wife did. She had hers corrected as part of the LASIK process. She was in her mid-40's when she had her eyes done. She began using reading glasses about 10 years later. One of her brothers was the first one to have the procedure and he went from being legally blind to uncorrected 20/20 vision. He also had astigmatism which was corrected with LASIK. He needed reading glasses after the surgery but compared to his vision prior to the surgery he isn't complaining. He was in his later 20's.

I am happy I had LASIK done, I was afraid I might end up with an infection that injured my eyes. It is nice not dealing with contacts or glasses on a regular basis. Having to keep some cheaters handy is kind of a pain but that is a part of getting old.

Had mine done 20 years ago. Wow! I did not get the starburst effect from oncoming headlights. Readers yes. No more cold weather fogging up every time you come in from the cold. Wife had it and a brother also. No regrets. Edk

Had both eyes done September 2006 and thought it was wonderful. Lasted about 7-8 years before I needed glasses again to sharpen up images.
November 2018 Left eye retina detached and it never recovered.
Do some research before you have it done about retina detachment.
Apparently it’s fairly common if you have certain conditions before the surgery.
I thought it was awesome after I had it in 2006, now I’d not have anything done to my eyes again that was not absolutely necessary.
Just my 2 cents worth.

You’re a perfect candidate I bet. It’s life changing for sure. I wore glasses daily for distance and was sick of fogging up while hunting and fishing. I actually qualified for the $199 per eye special that they advertise to suck you in. Made me a little nervous to pay so little but it was a success and I’d never want to be in glasses again.

I had 20/400+ astigmatism in 2006 and had it done.

Best money spent of all time. Life changing.

I had it done in Canada in 2000. One of the best things I ever did. I still don't need glasses. I'm 63 now. Had 20/800 before surgery. Now left eye is 20/15 and right is 20/30.

I'm 50, had LASIK at 33. Best money I've ever spent. Afterwards I was 20/15, and still am. Night vision stayed the same, not great but okay. Doctor said I'd need reading glasses at 40. Actually made it to about 45. Can't hardly see anything inside of 3 feet without my readers now, but they warned me it would happen regardless of the procedure. Normal iron sights are still fine on my 1911, but I have an S&W M&P Compact with a red fiber optic front and all it is is red fuzzy hair. Can still shoot it well, though.

Shortly after the surgery I was amazed at being able to see golf balls on the green as we approached long before my playing partners could.

I now wear bifocals most of the time because as a teacher I frequently have to look at things within arms length, but my pistol shooting is about the same with and without. My vision has no effect on my trigger press.
