Is it an original M1922, M1, or M2? If so not " converted" to .22, they were made that way from scratch. Or is it a true conversion built by someone who knew what they were doing, or a basement Bubba job?

gnoahhh, I am not sure!!! This is not my thing, but I felt someone might be interested.. I looked at the gun several times.. I do not think it is a bubba job.. It is well done and has peep sights.. Maybe they all did.. I can check tomorrow before I leave for a camping trip if you like.. How do I check for M1 or M2??? I am slightly interested, but it is not my field... Thanks..

It'll be marked as such. The Armory-built ones all came with Lyman 48 receiver sights. If in nice condition that's a decent price. Excellent shooters by the way. They were built for military target/training and civilian sales (through the NRA) both, to fill the need for a high quality "man sized" .22 bolt gun. When the Winchester M52 and other top tier .22's burdgeoned the gov't no longer saw the need to be in the .22 target rifle business.

My M2 would be one of the last .22's I got rid of. And I own a bunch of good .22's.

Make sure it has its magazine. Alone they're worth their weight in gold, almost literally.

I have owned several Springfield 1922 M2's and also Winchester M/52's. When it came time to downsize recently, the M/52 went and the Springfield stayed, it will be the last rifle that I would part with.

When I first started shooting position with the Long Beach Police Junior Rifle Team, we had several of the Springfields, as well as Model 52s and a few Remington 40Xs. I loved those old Springfields. I always wondered what happened to them when the program was ended.

Just an up date.. I checked the peep is correct for this rifle... So were the marks.. The only thing I can see that is not correct it has a set of target blocks added... What would that do to the price??????

Some had target scope block, some not shouldn't affect the price one way or the other.
