Ruger LCR II .22 lr and it's 'safety' #15210833 09/10/20

OP DeafSmith Campfire Greenhorn Joined: Aug 2020 Posts: 43	Well I picked up a Ruger LCR II .22 lr. Went to the range. Mag holds 10 shots (semi-staggered row.) Now the gun functioned fine. Shot fairly close to point of aim. Not bad accuracy at all. BUT, the safety comes on every shot! Fire a round and the recoil kicks the safety on. I used Federal 'Lightning' and Federal standard load ammo. I guess I could make something to block the safety so it's always 'off' but... that is not how it is supposed to work. This gun could actually be a CCW (deep concealment) but until that safety works right... NO! Deaf

I saw the same remarks regarding the safety on a YT video review a while back, can't recall whose vid it was or I'd post it up.

MontanaMarine Campfire Ranger M Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 19,076 Canyon Ferry, Montana	I know what it was, it was Chris at Lucky Gunner explaining that it was easy to unintentionally engage the safety while racking the slide, while loading or clearing a malf. The price is nice on the LCP, but for me, the LCR is the better mousetrap, for a small 22 handgun.
