This morning will be picking up Sav 23D in 22H ($325) and Sav NRA (?) 22 with barrel band ($140). Plus 10% buyer premium. Been looking for 23D for long time.
500 guns and only one Savage lever, a 99eg in 300 that went for $800. 20 plus Savage 22's and bolts. Nice 29A $245. Two 23AA for $125 each. 25-20 sporter for $325. Model 20 in 250 Sav $590. A number of Super Sporters in 30-06 ($155-300) and one in 300 Sav $305.
Most guns in good condition. Auctioner miss I.D.ed the model Savage pistols (6) and others. 1907 pistils called 1915s ($300 -320). One 1917 ($440) called 1907.
All in all I thought prices were reasonable. Most guns were military and foreign, of which i know little. Several foreign models in calibers I never heard of went $1000 plus? 100,000 PLUS rounds of ammo! Unfortunately they mixed calibers in each lot. some rare stuff. Prices for ammo right up there. I think I got the ammo deal of the auction; for $78 I got 6 boxes: 250 Sav 300 Sav 22H 270 Win 220 Swift and 7mm in one lot.
Probably should have picked up some more of the Savage 22's but safes are kinda full.....

A guy can pick up some sweet deals on the small auctions too. Maybe the big money doesn't bother with going to them I don't know.

I picked up 600 rounds of 30-40 ammo for $110 out the door. Same amount of 38-55 ammo for a little more. Let some go by I wish I hadn't.

Congrats Bruce!
I have always admired your "shopping skills". That ammo deal is indeed awesome.
Do you participate in the Wards online auctions?

John, I have not used Wards. Now another one to look at. Actually trying to stay somewhat local, but never say never.
While in line, talked to other buyers and all seemed happy. My 2 new Savages look really nice.

"Nice 29A $245. Two 23AA for $125 each."Those were cheap especially the 23AA's those are nice bolt guns.

While on ammo... I checked on .22's and 9mm 's the other day...MidwayUSA, Graf and Son and SGAmmo (Oklahoma). Only some high end match and tracers in .22's. Did find some PPC brand 9's, just plinking grade, 5 box limit at $29/box !!!, and limited supply of tracers and shot. .Appears to be the new toilet papers of the ammo world.

Ward's...I thought all the Savage items brought good money. No buys in the collector .22's. I bid on 35 boxes and ended with 6.

Good buys on those 22's, somebody got a steal on that 1920 in 250-3000 if it was nice.
