30 or 32 oz empty IIRC I like metal frames. Never been a big fan of polymer. This is all stainless internals and heat treated beefed up huge slide rails in the Aluminum alloy frame. Steel slide. It,s a tank . Not sexy. But reliable. Shot one a guy had in the late 90,s. I liked it. It’s a tank all right. All heat treated SS internals is doubtful.

I have that exact pistol that bought as a 21 year old college student(1993 I believe). I just order some mec-gar 17 round magazines for it, which are still easily available on line if you look. For me the stock sights are pretty small compared to “modern “ sights. Aftermarket sights are hard to come by for the p89 but trijicon does still list 3 dot night sights as available....my slide is there now for installation. I’m excited about bringing my p89 out of retirement, enjoy yours!

Less than that. Put my Jericho on armslist this morning at 730 Had 722 in it total. Was asking 800 Willing to go 750 ish Said open for interesting trades and cash. Got a couple of text. Crap offers Shotguns .22 rifles. And cash. Thank you for calling but I'm not interested. Old guy text me around 1030 I call him up. Told me what he had . Said I was very interested in it. We haggled back and forth on the phone for a bit. Think we both enjoyed that. Went up to his home up town. We checked out both pistols. Deal agreeable to each of us. He gave me the P89 500 bucks 3 boxes of 9mm 115 gr. So basically I got it for 222 dollars . Great deal! You stole it !

I’m excited about bringing my p89 out of retirement, enjoy yours! Gonna have to look for the 17 rd mecgars Seen the 15 rd ones. Really would like to find some pinky purchase floor plates and just flip out these flat steel ones. Seen 20 rd extended plates also. Lots of LGS in the area have good mag selection. Probably walked by P89 mags a million times with out a thought. Get the hogue grip in the morning. Then cruise around town and see what I can find floor plate or mag wise. Seen replacement sights on several wrbsites also. Get out and shoot it 1st and see how it does. If it's hitting to POA/ POI at 25yds. It will be GTG. I got blazer brass 124 gr Speer 124 gr gold dots ( which I hope are to POA/ POI And geco 115 gr.

People have been talking about the durability of these model for awhile. Remember this hilarious thread from 2009? https://monsterhunternation.com/2007/10/09/hk-because-you-suck-and-we-hate-you/From the comments: "Trebor October 12, 2007 at 4:43 am Ah, I see you managed to draw out the HK fanboys with this post. As an instructor I see my students bring in a lot of different guns. I’ve seen HK’s pistols fail at about the same rate as the other major brands. You want to know the most reliable auto-pistols I see come through my classes? It’s not any of the HK guns. It’s not even the Glocks. The Ruger centerfire autopistols are the most consistently reliable guns I see. I’ve literally yet to see a student have a malfunction with a Ruger centerfire semi-auto. I can’t say that for any other brand." There are other mentions of Rugers in the comments but the wife needs help filling out very simple forms "in Engrish".

Good score, should serve you well until you can get a Glock. Mil and Civ it is very difficult to teach folks to use a decocker prior to holstering . Old school Ruger autos are like old power wagons, not much fun to drive but they will get you there and back home again. mike r Glocks are excellent guns. Be cool if they could add weight in the polymer frame. Some type of option the user could have with em???? Used a 22 as a deputy. Owned a G24 . Shot 17,s 19,s Shot a guys 17 with a older laser on it. Weight forward type of deal That one actually felt like I had something in my hand. The Glock grip and me aint never melded muscle memory wise. For some reason metal frame pistols just seem more able for me to get into grip wise . I think it is the weight in my hand signal to my brain and the less snappiness I know in my mind i will have in a steel or alloy frame pistol versus a polymer frame pistol I wonder if glock has ever thought of designing weight features into open areas in their polymer frame. Especially the larger calibers Dunnno. I think some glock models would be awesome with about 10 or 12 oz of weight added in the areas behind and most especially in front of the trigger gaurd. Perhaps by simply increasing some outside contours on the frame just under the barrel and having added weight in those area,s Would tame some of the snap outta some of the larger caliber models.. It's all jmo .... Everyone has their bias and favs on stuff.
