Off to Korea. He came home fine with a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart. Lost him suddenly just after his 88th birthday June a couple of years ago just a few days after I visited him in California and learned of his death weeks later as Carrie and I were in the bush of Namibia.
Conduct is the best proof of character.

We lost him in 2016 at 90 years old. He taught me more about running a business than I could have ever learned in college. 1944 Senior Class photo.

Part of our Conservative fight here in Virginia... my dad was very active. He passed in February. My DadI had no idea about this... found 100% by accident looking for Probate stuff on his Estate. Part of the Permanent Record for the Commonwealth of Virginia. * FYI... For those that do not know... Virginia was taken over by Democrats (House, Senate and Exec.) in November 2019... so the Bill is really quite a shocker to have passed. PII... whatever.

If you are not actively engaging EVERY enemy you encounter... you are allowing another to fight for you... and that is cowardice... plain and simple.

Dad on the right with his two hunting partners, Foster and Ray, they killed a lot of deer and stuff, had some real stories and adventures... Ray and dad took our mule into a wilderness hunting bear, Ray shot a bear and it fell over a 10ft bank, Ray ran over excited and slipped over the bank on top of the bear, Dad laughed his ass off as Ray scrambled back up not knowing if the bear was dead or not... luckily it was dead. I took that photo, probably '79, we were deer hunting, walking back to camp I shot a forky at close range in the flat, only had a spine shot because of a downed tree, it screamed like a woman for 30 seconds when it went down. Those guys made a big deal out of me scoring, wasn't my first deer but was with them. Ray and Foster have been gone for some time now. Me and Dad last weekend, Dad's 89, last of our parents alive. I just got in from hunting elk with Enrique, who has an archery tag, that morning, wife said I look like I'm taking a chit... that's what happens when you take me off guard with the camera... Kent

Dad was born in 1913. Died in 1991. He graduated from UF, undergrad and law school. and Emory University with his Divinity degree and a masters. A brilliant speaker, organizer, minister and a wonderful father. Dad was a country boy, and taught me hunting, fishing, and the love of the outdoors. I have his old Clauss hunting knife. Learned to dress game with that one.

Here is dad with we 3 boys on a salmon fishing trip last weekend. Last November he developed gangrene in his foot due to an infection (he is diabetic). He lost part of a foot. Then he developed a bleeding stomach ulcer due to meds, and passed out at home due to low hemoglobin (6.5). We were very thankful that he was able to go with us! We dont know how long we have with him yet, but we treasure these times. This trip is a 10 year tradition. Henderson Harbor Lake Ontario.

Dad turned 80 a month ago. I'm hoping for 90, as long as quality of life is good.
