Does anyone here have any experience with this Federal ammo in AR-10 308?
How was accuracy? Bullet performance?

This new SOST round designated as MK319 MOD-0 the round was designed as a barrier defeating round with superior penetration and better ballistic stability when shooting through glass, car doors and other barriers where other rounds simply bounce off. It utilizes a 130 grain open tip boattail match bullet with a lead core and reverse copper jacket creating the open tip.

I don't know what rounds have been bouncing off auto glass...
I can assure you 168 amax don't.

I bought some 62 grain OTM bullets a couple of weeks ago. Midway was introducing them at .18 cents a piece so why not? Anyway same design bullet just for 5.56 designated MK 318.

So far I loaded some with RL15 and TAC, accuracy at 50 yards was just over an inch and just under respectively. Nothing to get excited about but good enough for red dot use.

Velocity was 2877 FPS with TAC, RL15 was 25 something. Both out of 16” barrel.

I plan on doing some penetration tests but I had surgery right after I got these and cronographing was all I wanted to do. The 5.56 version gets good reviews for its purpose. I’m sure the 308 will be the same. Buy some and find out.
