Or is this just mine that's doing this since COVID19?
I don't like this at all, where you don't go in for the consultation phase with your dog and the vet in the same exam room. They are saying a tech will come to my car and bring my dog in to see the vet.
I don't want to consult with a tech in the parking lot. I want to consult with the vet in the exam room so I can discuss the reason for the visit. This is no way to practice veterinary medicine, IMO.

It's the current practice here at all virtually all clinic, though there are a couple of outliers. The vet will do a telephone consult during or following the exam.
The only exception is euthanasias. For a while they were only letting one family member in for the euthanasia but they've loosened that up now.
Most physicians are doing the same thing - telephone consults. They don't need to see you face to face to give you a form for a urine test.

Wabi, you're talking about farm calls, right? Those are still being done in person.

My vet center has the same policy that you described. Call ahead for parking lot pickup of prescriptions and appointments are handled by a vet tech meeting me at my truck and then taking the dog in.
I’m not crazy about it, it’s completely unnecessary. I suspect that part of there reasoning is that if they don’t have to deal with people it streamlines there process and cuts down on time spent per animal a bit.

Most vet practices are doing this in our area. However, my vet will let me bring our dogs into the building as long as I wear a mash, and go straight to the exam room. I had to take one of our boxers to the cardiologist's office for a routine annual holter test on Friday, in Richmond......call upon arrival, tech comes out to your vehicle and takes your dog inside.....then brings the dog back to you.......payment over the phone!

Had to take both our dogs a month ago.
Not allowed inside with them.
I think it's BS, of course.

My vet does the same. He takes a lot of time on phone consults during the exam. Doesn’t bother me.

Due to the increased price of ammo, don't expect a warning shot...

My wife is a vet tech at one of our local vet's. He (the DVM that owns the practice) is an awesome, conservative Trump loving gun toting guy. He held off on the parking lot BS as long as he could, might have been the last one around to succumb, but eventually pressure was brought to bear. I don't know if it was by the state, or if there's some kind of board that determines vet stuff? It sucks for everybody. Way more work for the employees, lots of whiney owners etc. It sucks all the way around, as the owners don't get to be in there with the vet and their precious fur baby. If it were up to him, the curbside crap would never even have happened.
What pisses me off is the way the shidt eating kuhnts with their "fur babies" treat the girls bringing stuff to and from the cars and dealing with the owners. They don't make the law, or the policy. It's stated plainly by the receptionist when the owner makes the appt, and if someone is too stupid to pay attention, it's posted on the front door as well. Unfortunately many people think they are special, and the rules are for other folks. They think they can just walk in, or if they throw enough of a hissy fit they'll get to go in.
I could never do my wife's job. I'd put down half the animals that come in there, and half the owners to boot. People get so fugking retarded when it comes to Snookems, the BESTEST dog EVER that never bit anybody! Or the [bleep] cat people. Ugh.
Rant off
