Everything around Seattle is blue, not just the city. Astounding.

You can pick out where the Indian Reservations are out west.

Also look just above Savannah, along the "Corridor of Shame" Dirt poor area between Sav, Columbia, SC, and Augusta GA yet there's a blue streak. HIghly uneducated group there, voting for their free stuff.

Actually, its Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties. Brevard is four counties north of Palm Beach County, and is deep red on this map, north of Martin, St Lucie and Indian River Counties (the three in between).

Not necessarily. Looks like in my home state of ND it is the Indians. Standing Rock in the south, Turtle Mts folks up north. Bottineau is a college town up there too.

AK is tainted.

Murkowski.

20% of Alaska is Native- they pretty much block vote Democrat on order from their "Elders", and their corporations. Most of them are low info voters- knowing/following little in state, or especially, national politics. Ocer half the 730K population of Alaska live in Anchorage - assume 50% vote Dem. We are hanging Red by a hair...

Given the Native vote, any politition only needs to pick up about a third of the rest of the state vote to win.

Actually NO, but a lot of the Blue is cities. The Blue is the population distribution of people that voted for Hillary. There are no "Cities" in Vermont or Maine. Yes Portland Maine is a metropolitan area, but hardly a "city" Most of western Massachusetts is rural! Jackson Hole WY is no city. My point being that The mindset of "it's the city" is wrong now. People are moving out of the cities and populating rural areas. Remote working is changing the political landscape of America. Among doing other things such as pricing locals out of the market.

Surprised by that big chunk of military desert in SoCal.
And what is wrong with the Northeastern corner of Minnesota?
That's not a city is it?

Wondering about NE Minnesota myself.. Pretty sure there should be a big blue spot 200 miles south for MSP and STP... Also missing Los Anchorage in Alaska..

You'd be surprised by lefties and old hippies that live in those areas. Mostly all tree huggers, which explains all the yearly fires. And don't forget anti-oil exploration.

Duluth is up there, the rest of that area has very few people and most of them are pro Union or environmentalists. They're big counties, which makes the map look worse than it really is.
