I maaaay have also told some folks that once I shoot a group onto a blank sheet of paper, I simply walk downrange and draw a circle around the group so it's centered exactly in the drawn circle. That way, I know I'm always sighted in perfectly.
Funny, but I have seen a local builder at a range do just that. Blank paper, shots all over it and a cluster of three is circled and cut out and then probably sent with the rifle.

Okay, anybody else want a couple of the ones I posted? Some going out tomorrow. Drop a PM with your mailing addy. I'll mail two to a customer.
The xeroxed supply I have is a bit light. You may wish to darken the central diamond yourself to make these your Master Copy. Then duplicate them in any quantity you like.
These are great as 100-yard rifle targets, but also make very good 25-yd pistol targets, I have learned. A front sight fits very nicely on the diamond.
Edit to add: AND these are easy to 3-hole punch and file for recording your reloads success or failure. Nice gesture on your part. I'm going to draw up one on your design and make a master for myself if you don't mind.

Mil-scale diamonds would be nice... Try stormtactical.com, they have mil targets. They even have targets with mil grids/diamonds/whatever for use at 100 yard increments of typical shooting ranges.

I made something on 1/4" graph paper similar to a target I had seen.

I like this one as much as any I’ve ever seen for shooting in a scoped center fire rifle. Thanks RockyRaab.

You're welcome. When I was writing, I printed, shot, measured and filed away literally thousands of those. I used them at 100 yards for rifle and at 25 for pistol - a front sight blade just fits in the center of the diamond, giving you elevation, windage, and tilt info.

Well now it's digital and I and you can have them in perpetuity, well as long as Google allows me to share.
Thanks again to Rocky Raab for the original

If you want a target to last forever and you're happy with hunting/combat accuracy, grab a full size cardboard target backer and cut out a fist sized hole in the middle of the top half and a 10"-12" hole in the middle of the bottom half. You can pick and choose which hole is appropriate based on distance and/or shooting iron. Shoot for the middle of the open holes and as long as you don't hit cardboard, the target should last forever... in theory. Or just throw 1/2" washers in the air and show everyone how good you are........ My bullets go through the hole in middle, so nobody can detect a hit.

I drew this one up something like 30 years ago. The white cross in the center just holds a scope's crosshairs, and the small square is 2.5" above center - ideal for sighting in big game rifles. There's a block in the upper left for data/notes and the squares are 1". You can make one up yourself or I'll send you a couple as master copies that you can take to any printer and copy them for a couple pennies each. [Linked Image] I made a bunch of these. Can’t wait to try them

I make my own with a cadd program and have a variety of sizes of these. I just print off whatever I need from pdf's of these.
