Youth season in IN was this weekend. My oldest has helped this summer on some new property we bought clearing trails, planting footplots, moving stands. He's paycheck came last night. Saw and passed on a smaller buck and a few mins later had two more deer in view. This buck was nice enough for him. He did get to experience a bit of ground shrinkage, but overall he's happy with the buck, his biggest to date.

Our view for the evening. Pretty evident I didn't get a full coverage the last time I sprayed. blush

Since it was a touch warm and the local processor isn't taking deer yet as he's still getting caught up on custom beef/pork processing, he got an education on quartering a deer on the ground, in the dark!

Watching the youngest play a baseball game early in the day and the oldest shoot a buck later in the day. All in all a good day.

First field I sprayed wound up looking like a psychedelic flag, with all the missed overlap areas. Nice job on the kids deer.

Rifle. In IN the youth season is the last weekend in September, before archery season opens on 10/1. I like it for getting the boys out and trying to fill a tag before things get "serious".

Thanks everyone for the kind words.

Congratulations young man! Also, it sounds like you had one heck of a day wearing the "Dad" hat.
