Duplex reticles. Set and forget. Low light performance needed hunting in GA pines and hardwoods.

Save me the leupold doesnt track or hold zero stuff. Leupold is all ive ever had. Vx3 and 3i's currently.

All are $ similar so what's your pick and why.

I believe the zeiss is Japan made. Leupold is us made. Where is the meopro made?

Meopta is made in the Czech Republic assembled in the US, I do believe. All have a lifetime warranty transferable. Hard to say, pay your money and take your chance. Weight, length, features etc. Kinda peas in a pod.

Are you looking illuminated in those which have it?
The VX-6 has a fantastic duplex if you are not.

Can’t speak to the v4 but poster Bobby Tomek speaks highly of them - which carries significant weight in my book.

The meopta is the only 1” scope on your list and may not be quite as “bright” as the other two - although it’s a great scope in it’s own right.

Final answer ... VX-6 or v-4.

Czech Republic I’m thinking

The Leupold VX5-HD has a really Wide plex type reticle and the Meopta has a Wide Plex reticle also yet not near as weird as the the 5HD and the outer lines are heavier on the Meopta. . The Leupold VX6 has a semi Wide plex but inner lines and outer lines are a little heavier than standard duplex if I remember. I’ve never seen the the Zeiss V4. I think The Leupolds have a slightly larger more comfortable view.

They used to be made in the US, they are made in the Czech Republic.

Meopta scopes are made in the Czech Republic and assembled there as well. That way you are getting the European quality you expect. 4-5 years ago there were some products assembeled in the US but that has ceased.

I believe the VX-6 you are referencing is 2-12x42 if that matters.

If low light performance is a priority I would choose a VX- HD model with illumination. and I did just that. Three of them.

The lit dot makes up for the marginal wide duplex.

This is a list of good hunting scopes, if illumination is not what you want, you could darn near flip a coin.

all are good scopes mention,but myself i would rather buy a Nightforce with illumination and there is a nice used nightforce in the classified would work just great for you.good luck with your pick,Pete53

The Meopta Meopro 6x42 #4 that I just purchased indicates a 10 year warranty not lifetime.

I find myself leaning towards the v4. Can anyone comment specifically on the good or bad on it?

I have Leupolds, I know they supposedly ain’t worth a cshit but they give me no heartburn. I like the gold ring.

I have a 4-16x44 V4 and have been very pleased so far. I've shot deer out to 425 yd and steel out to 700 yd using it and have no complaints. Admittedly, I have not shot it at longer ranges more than a few times, but so far so good. The adjustments seem precise and accurate. My brother has the VX5 3-15x44 and I have looked through both side by side and could not tell any difference, but it was in a neighborhood and it was only once.

I have used scopes from all 3 lines. Of the MeoPro, Leupold VX-5HD and Zeiss V4, I'd take the Conquest again and again. The VX-5HD is close in performance, though the choice of duplex reticle design in both the standard and the firedot model is truly disappointing when one compares it to the VX-6.

The Zeiss #20 plex is more visible in low light than the wide, thin duplexes of the MeoPro 3.5-10x44 and VX5HD.(Meopta does not use the same style of plex reticle in all of its models)

Bottom line: The Zeiss V4 offers a LOT for the $$.
