Looking to buy a lightweight 222. Nothing fancy only that it shoots well.

I would recommend looking for a CZ527. It checks all of your boxes.

It's not a lightweight - 1986 Remington 700 ADL 222 Rem Gloss Blue 24" barrel with original sites. I removed the wood and mounted in a SPS BDL plastic stock. Metal is like new and was fired very little. I have plenty of brass and factory ammo also. I also have a 1969 700 BDL 222 Rem Mag Gloss Blue 24" barrel with original sites mounted in a McMiilan which I'm going to keep.

No help here either...I wanted one and had to "build" it... Otherwise you can keep your eyes open and fingers crossed for a Model 600... The 'build'...

I’d try to find a Firearms International L461 Sako Vixen, approx. 6 1/2 lbs and handles like a dream.

I you could come across a Remington model 7 in one that wouldn't be the cats meow..... those older walnut stocked guns are nice and pretty good shooters

Andrews1958: I highly recommend you seeking out a Remington 700 "Classic" in 222 Remington - these Rifles were a limited run back in 1993. When I bought mine I was so amazed by the accuracy from this 24" sporter weight barrel/Rifle that I went out and bought another one just to prove that my first Classic in 222 Remington was a fluke! Well the first Remington 700 Classic in 222 Remingtons accuracy was not a "fluke" (one of a kind!) as the second Remington 700 Classic in 222 Remington shot/shoots every bit as well as the first! Those two Remington 700 Classics in 222 Remington are on my personal NEVER SELL list. I also have Remington 700 Classics in 223 Remington and 221 Remington Fireball - if you run across either of those calibers in the Classics I highly recommend you give them consideration for your needs. Best of luck in your search. Hold into the wind VarmintGuy
