Make sure the seasons are open in the areas you are looking at. August is archery hunting and some rifle areas open in Oct.
Confirm they have seasons open when you want to hunt.

Confirm they have seasons open when you want to hunt. Thanks. Yep. I will be in zone 23 with a type 2 tag since it is all private land. I am going to buy a preference point too, for another hunt the following year someplace. Do I pick a hard to get public land hunt as my first choice and 23-2 private land hunt as my 2nd choice so I can get 23-2 and not my 1st choice? That way I can retain my point for a future hunt?
