What's the best one? I want to fence in 10 acres, collar 2 dogs right now and one more later this year.
Quality of the control unit, life of the collar batteries, comfort of the receiver units (not huge hopefully), those are things I'm focused on but there may be other things to consider.
Thanks
Something clever here.

I run a Pet Safe Stubborn Dog system. Just under 2500 feet of 14 gauge wire for right around 5 acres. 2 collars on 2 male Rotts. Works very well.
The unit I have is supposed to support up to a 25 acre area. I'd probably evn go to 12 gauge wire for that big of a loop. I buried nothing except where it crosses the driveway. I used 6" landscaping staples to keep the wire tight to the ground. A year or two of mowing carefully around the wire and it should thatch right in.

Another forum I go to has a guy that installs a specific brand for his full time job and then trains the dogs to it.
His recommendation was never buy the wire with the kits. Buy your wire from an electrical supply house. There is a specific insulation (better for burial, weather, and potential UV exposer) he recommended, but I can’t think of it. I’m sure a quick google would turn up that info.

.......... never buy the wire with the kits. ^^^^^ THIS ^^^^^ Actually...........never USE the wire with the kits. If you buy the kit, you get (usually) 500 feet of 20 gauge garbage.
