I think we will see a more restrained debate with hopefully fewer interruption from Pence. Trump set the bar quite low by interrupting Biden 73 times.
I think it could go either way but it will have little meaningful affect on Trump poor poll numbers.

Harris is demanding a plexiglass barrier around her. Pence says not needed and refusing one. Does Harris realize that will make her appear to be weak and timid? Pence already has a commanding appearance and presence while hers is, well... what it is. Whoever her handlers are, this is a tactical mistake.
Couple that with her vulnerability on the issue of justice reform with her track record as DA and she’s under water before it starts.
The way Pence handled Kaine, it should be a good night for Republicans.
