I purchased a new Howa 1500 6.5 Creedmoor. stainless with a walnut stock. When it arrived at my local FFL dealer and I got it home, I found the barrel was tight against the left side of the stock. Obviously, it is supposed to be centered.
I called Howa and arranged to send the stock only back for an exchange. I was told they had 17 of stocks still available and one would be shipped to me. Well, it has been over 2 months now and after more calls, I still have not gotten the replacement. I literally could have called Boyd's and had a brand new stock made faster than this. I can get a Boyd's very quickly!
Fast forward to today, I called again. This time no one answered the phone and I get an automated message to leave my name and number and someone would call me......HOWEVER, instead of being able to actually leave a message, the system tells me the message box is full and cannot accept any new messages at this time. Are you kidding me!!!
HOWA has NOT given me good service with this very simple issue. Having to wait 2 months before I can even shoot their rifle, the least they could do is pickup the phone to speak with me and send me a cheap Hogue for all my inconvenience. They cannot possibly have more than a few dollars in the Hogue stocks. I'm very disappointed and at this point, I cannot recommend Howa.

Too late now, but I would’ve just fixed that myself.
In the meantime, grab something else cheap like a Hogue if you need it quickly. Lots of used ones out there. You shouldn’t have to, but you can always sell the cheap one when yours shows up.

Did you shoot it first to see if there was an actual problem with the barrel not being centered in the stock channel?
No, with as much contact all along the left side of the barrel channel, I didn't want to waste time and ammo. Proper support and clearance is often critical.

Are you sure the stock was the problem? Was the inlet off center? The action, barrel, floor plate, trigger could be hitting somewhere and causing things to be misaligned. I hope you get it resolved soon if you are planning on using it this fall.
