The best frozen patty burger I have ever made, hands down.
-1/3lb Sam's Club/Member's Mark Sirloin 85/15 burger patty -550 degree grill -Coat one side of patty in Lowry's seasoning salt and add some garlic salt too -Grill 5 mins on one side, flip and continue cooking for 4m 30s -Add cheddar slice 60 seconds before removing from grill -Toasted bun in toaster -Dijon mustard on top slice of bun -Slice of American on bottom slice of bun
Damn, that was greasy and tasty. And easy. And almost no mess.
"Come, shall we go and kill us venison? And yet it irks me the poor dappled fools, Being native burghers of this desert city, Should in their own confines with forked heads Have their round haunches gored."
This was just a quick, easy burger while I was working from home. No raw meat mess, no pulling all kinds of ingredients, just throwing together a quick tasty burger using a frozen patty. The point of the post was good burgers can be had using frozen patties, which until today frankly I didn't really believe but I knew it could be done. Until today they'd always been mediocre. With grilling timing is everything, aside from knowing your grill.
If I'm making burgers from fresh ground, then I'll get fancy and put onions and other things in the ground meat, toast the buns in butter in a skillet, live it up a little. This was literally light the grill and get it hot, quick season a patty, toss on grill, toast a bun and scarf a good cheeseburger.
I'm glad you liked it. My preferences are a bit different. While I do enjoy a cheeseburger, a burger to me does not include it. Nor does red meat call for mustard.
I like a decent mix of beef/fat pattied up thick and grilled medium rare, a slice of white onion, a squirt of ketchup or A-1, and a warm but not toasted bun. That's all.
Piling other stuff on just defeats the purpose of a burger, to my way of thinking. If you simply must have lettuce and tomato, okay. If you prefer a cheeseburger, that's fine, too. But ONE slice of cheese. Never EVER avocado, thousand island dressing, mustard, battered onion rings, pretzel buns, mushrooms, or pickles.
All that said, today for lunch I had a Red Robin Burning Love burger, piled high with all kinds of stuff, oozing sauce, and with a roasted jalapeno on the side. Ate every morsel. So I'm not a purist.

So how many of these do you usually consume in one sitting?
