Well done. Any bull is a good bull. Just a word to the wise--never conclude that a bull has "clearly expired" from great distance. Always be willing to put another shot in it at the slightest provocation.

Congratulations JSmith! Nice Ky bull. I got a cow tag and filled it in 2010. It is great to be able to hunt Elk in our home state. I too hunted on reclaimed strip mine ground in Knott County. Not been drawn since.
If we live long enough, we all have regrets. But the ones that nag at us the most are the ones in which we know we had a choice.

Thanks gentlemen. It was more than likely a once in a lifetime hunt. I have spoken to several people who have put in 18 years with no luck.
