Update: Genset shut down at 9:30Am and back to normal power along with internet. Will take the SxS and pick up limbs and do a final search for the damn window screen shortly!

I wanted to add that at least with hurricanes we get some warning unlike earthquakes, most tornados and etc. When you take the brunt of any "natural disaster" you will have damage and that is why we have insurance.

We got gusts up around 65 in Monroe, but it was more like 45 at my place. 5" of rain, trees on the roads and powerlines, but not half as bad as Hurricane Laura. My road is flooded out in one direction from my drive, but the trees were cut off the road in the other direction early this AM. Generator is running and phone/internet still working. Feel for those families down south....

17 miles 120 degrees off the Monroe Regional Airport at Clear Lake we got 12" or more rain and I can guarantee it blew at least 70 mph at times late last night and early morning! Big oaks down in several places but none in my yard thank goodness! Much more wind than Laura and again our hearts go out to the folks in South Louisiana!

Traveled on the interstate some today.

Plenty of power trucks headed south.
