Saw a 99 at a local gun show . It had a silver reciever with engraving and the Indian head logo and monte carlo stock chambered in .300 . Guy was asking 650.00 . I didn't think it was rare enough to really peak my interest. Thinking about it now maybe a good find ?

Silver receiver (not 75th Anniversary)...where is the Indian head logo?

Has it been used? Does it have the box and all paperwork?

Logo on the left side of the receiver. Looked new with maybe a few light handling marks . Unknown on box and paperwork .

99CE had an elk on one side of the receiver, a mountain lion on the other. No Indian Head.

RMEF wasn't silver and didn't have an Indian head.

99DE only had scrollwork on the sides.

99PE also had an elk on one side, mountain lion on the other.

So.. I don't know what it could be with an indian head on one side. After market engraved?

Was it a rotor magazine 99, or a removable mag 99?

Yes, you should have bought it even if it didn’t pique/peak your interest. Probably worth at least double the asking price.
Walking around and thinking about something that hits you is not the best strategy, usually gone when one goes back to buy it (don’t ask me how I know this).

I've bought some I shouldn't have and let some go I shouldn't have.

After about 30 years, I think I am about dead even to tell you the truth.

But I didn't get into it for the money. grin
