I store my guns in a locking gun locker, so generally don't bother to use the padlock that comes with rifles these days. Was wondering: if I would store my 10/22 locked with the padlock it was shipped with (run through the magazine well and open action), does that wear out any spring(s), since it would seem to be cocked? Say I don't shoot it for 6 months -- do I need to relieve any spring tension anywhere? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />
