So I just sold a gun to a member here, I put in his address on the UPS web site with the size and weight of the package, it estimated prices at $36.00. I walked into the UPS store thinking I would owe around $40.00 they charged me $82.00 they have added all kinds of Covid charges and Peak shipping charges. It is crazy the cleark told me the web site needed to updated. Folks shipping a gun will become a thing of the past if folks have to pay another hundred for a gun.

Should have printed the label at your house. Problem solved.
Also, UPS is the most expensive of carriers and have managed to break 2 rifles.

Take it down and ship in the smallest package you can wrapped to prevent ANY movement. Ship USPS priority.

The Brown Crushing Machine will never get any of my gun shipping Biz. As far as Ammo goes, Fedex has been Very Good.
I use USPS all the time, and never had a problem.

UPS stores are a rip off unless you have a prepaid shipping label. It bears repeating......the UPS Store is NOT the UPS!
It must be a regional thing, I would much rather have UPS in my area ship a firearm than FedEx.

This may be old news, but my local UPS (shipping hub, not a "store") told me starting Jan 2021, they will stop shipping ammo. Suppose I need to find a FedEx in the area that will do it.

This started last week. It is a Covid fee, you will be charged more if it is not in corrugated cardboard. Everyone has had a a problem with one of the shipping companies I would never use Fedex they left my $400.00 order of ammo from Buds at a empty house across the road. They are terrible out in rural areas.

Everyone has had a a problem with one of the shipping companies I would never use Fedex they left my $400.00 order of ammo from Buds at a empty house across the road. They are terrible out in rural areas. The quote you saw online was accurate. The UPS Store, not to be confused with a UPS hub, can charge whatever they want. Unless the new "covid" fee was 40.00, the UPS hub would have charged you closer to that 36.00 price point. I think I paid the most I ever have last week for shipping rifle and it was 42.00 through USPS, Fedex wanted 46.00. This was also a 52in/25lb shipment. My typical cost to ship a rifle is usually 23.00-35.00 depending on where its going. I have shipped a lot of rifles. Print labels online, its cheaper. I have shipping accounts with all 3 and USPS has consistently been cheaper and very predictable with their service.
