Never would have imagined this would be an area of shortage many guys are wondering what sort of body armor ya need to protect against a 150 GR .30-06 load?
Thank goodness I reload!

This will certainly cut down on the sound shots that the guys have been taking. If it gets much worse especially for my 9mm, I’m going to be like Barney Fife walking around with my one cartridge in my pocket.
My other auto is a .45

Sportsmans Warehouse is pretty bare here. There was a group of out of staters looking for .325 wsm ammo and there wasnt any in town that they could find. That made me look around about and the shelves were close to 50% bare.

RK had one box of ww 150gr 3006......tagged at 32 bucks or so. WTH?
Rem corelokts.....17.99
Go 2 miles to another store and the win was either 17.99 or 18.99. as was the remington.
My LGS is within a buck or two.
They also get 9mm and 223 but it is gone in a hurry.

The local farm supply had tons of 6.5 Creedmoor. No .223, 308, 30-06, just some oddball magnums. So I guess you Karen’s can get your gay 6.5 on! LOL! The only thing my local Walmart has is 6.5 Creedmoor. And they have a decent amount.

You can't even get 30-06 or 30-30 here. I'm well stocked on that but it turns out I don't have any 270 and I can't find that either. Last I checked {a couple days ago} Budsgunshop still had .270's. Edit.....Yep, just checked and they still have a selection of .270. I'm not paying $17 shipping to get one box of ammo. I don't keep much 270 on hand because it's my brother's rifle that he left at my place. My hope is that someday he will come and get it but until then I will use it a little.

Ever since the last run on ammo, I've been a little spooked about availability. I don't hoard, but I keep enough ammo on hand to have my self covered for different needs. I've been gradually moving away form the bottom of the barrel stuff for my AR, 9mm, and .380. As for my deer gitter weapons, I've got handloads for the 300 Savage, and factory ammo for the others. At least 4 boxes for each of the other rifles, and about 8 five round boxes for my slug gun. Of course if I do a scope swap on something, or buy a new rifle, i'll make sure I've got enough to cover sighting in and hunting. I just try not to pas up .22 LR when I can find it, but even at that, it's not like I've got a whole pallet of the stuff down in the basement.

Yep gopher
"It's too late to drain the swamp when you're up to your Fart Hole in gators".....adapted.
It's TOOOO late after the spook is ON, as in now.
Some people never learn.
Yesterday I showed my son my loading cabinet; he hadn't seen inside it in some years. There is NO room for ANY more brass, bullets, primers, or powder. ** I don't have any factory ammo** none. @@ except a partial box of Rem 35 Whelen 200s for keepsake@@
I'm NOT a hoarder, I showed him a can of IMR 7828 price $ 15.79 --> whenever that price showed up I 'began' buying a little here and little there. So that's at least 20 years back since I started preparing.
Some people never learn.

It's getting to the point that you have to buy a gun just to get some ammo!
The biggest problem our country has is not systemic racism, it's systemic stupidity.

At this point I think hoarding was called for over the last few years and I’m glad I was buying way more 22lr, propellant, and primers than I was using or I’d be screwed.
Only wish I’d have included 9mm & 45 ACPin that strategy!

Chain store at the mall, big display of rem ammo. Was half gone laat week. Ill pick up a couple boxes of 165gr corelokts to throw in a tub.
Did notice a dent in the .270 ammo. I dont own one.

Walmart shelf was pretty sparse yesterday, but still had 6 boxes of 30-06 in 150 green box CLs and 180 gray box powerpoints along with several boxes of 6.5 CM and some 25-06. It varies, and while not brimming with hunting rifle ammo, they've had common stuff in stock each time I've checked over the past couple of months including 308, 7mm-08, 7mm Rem Mag, 300 Win Mag, 30-30, 270, 6.5, 25-06 and 30-06. I've got plenty of ammo and components for every gun I own, but I always cruise by the ammo shelves of stores when I visit just to see what's in stock, shortage or no shortage. Maybe not everywhere, but seems like a little persistence or willingness to widen the net would reap a fellow what he needs to hunt for common chamberings. Anyone who doesn't have a common chambered rifle likely handloads and surely ought to have enough on hand before this latest supply shortage.

It is hard to look at empty shelves, and not think how bad can it really get.

Mine changes and new additions roll in. I can't stock up because I don't what guns I'll be adding in the future. I have stocked up for what I had before it went crazy.

Mike That is understandable IF you don't know what you ARE interested in getting. i.e. I have 416 RM brass.....hoping. Also I stopped by my local Gun Shop Wed AM. Most, not all, common ammo was sold out. They HAD ammo for BIG cals, eg 7 WBY, 300 WBY, etc. Jerry
