I have a made in USA Lisle torx bit set, that I've used for many years with no issue, though I do not use them in a professional capacity. Lisle Torx Bit Set

You get what you pay for in tools, and when you use them everyday to make a living, there is a difference. Snap-on is tops on my list, and there are some really good deals on ebay for used stuff....much less than buying off the truck. There was a time I would agree with you. Today, you're paying for the convenience of the driver coming to you weekly or however. I have buddies that work at the Crystal Lake, Illinois warehouse where the Chinese snap On junk comes in and packed for sale at Snap On prices. Literally much of the same crap as China/Harbor Freight Tools. Not all Snap On Tools are still made in the U.S. They've Whore'd their name like so many others. Sad........

Hopefully they are still made in USA. Lisle used to be all made in USA, but have off-shored a lot of it. Years ago I inquired and they sent me an Excel spreadsheet that detailed their Taiwan and China made tools by product #. I have a set of them, by the way. Also have a made in Taiwan set of Torx socket bits I bought from an auto parts store around 2001 or so because I needed them right then. Taiwan or not, they've been a good set. I.E., the bits are good and hard, well formed and fit snugly. Don't know if they have a brand on them. Also have some Craftsman Torx bit sockets made in USA from their 540 pc mechanics set. I've got a fair number of Lisle tools but can't give them all five stars like I wish I could. I have been mostly satisfied with them.

The absolute best ones are made by Apex. They're not typically sold in sets, but you can sometimes find them on ebay. There's a difference between impact and non-impact rated. I'll look around and see what I can find.

As you probably know we're a small company (about 15 of us) competing with huge conglomerate manufacturers. We can't match their advertising budgets so most of our new sales come from word of mouth.
