Nice. It appears the stock bolt is holding. Your picture of the receiver bottom is interesting. I've seen what I would call scratches like those before in older Savages enough to determine they must be part of the factory finish. Can anyone expand on that? That's a nice old 1899! I like the lines of those guns.

Also seen on the sides of some of the early 1899's. Blued or not they show through. Lines always run front to rear direction of the receiver.
