Purchasing a 340 weatherby scope base on it is the old buehler one piece base that has the screw head that locks front ring in place with a flathead screw. Would you use it or go to a different base and if so which one

What these guys said or sub Burris Signature dual dovetail rings or Signature Zee rings with Warne bases. I have all three setups and they don’t shoot loose like other styles. No aluminum, ever.

Just purchase the two piece Buehler bases, that is what a Weatherby should be wearing! Plenty strong to handle the recoil of a .340WM and look absolutely appropriate.

On all mine, I’ve used the Redfield type Leupold one piece base with the front ring that you turn in and the back ring that is secured with screw heads from both sides (and they’re windage adjustable). Even used it on the .378, .416, and the .460 without any problems ever.

Every day on this side of the ground is a win.
