What do you guys think of this bullet performance? I recovered a two pieces of a factory loaded federal terminal ascent bullet. Starting weight was 175 grains. Shot out of a 22inch barreled 30-06. Box claims 2730 FPS but I didnt ever run it over the chrono but according to shooting at the range they are very close to that. The bullet was found under the the hide on the far side. Shot was 40 yards on a 5 point bull he dropped at the shot and never attempted to get up again. He was hit through the shoulder blade and it shattered that and punched through the opposite side blade as well. Im impressed with the performance and will be loading some of these up this summer for next years elk hunt and may get some in 7MM to try in the 7X57.

Available as a component?

It would be hard to talk me out of using a 180 gr partition

Shows they are out of stock on midway but backorder ok. thinking the 200 grain .308 bullet could be a great one for where I hunt elk. The 155 grain 7MM looks like it might find a home in my 7X57 next year...

Sure seems to have worked. I’d guess at longer ranges it would mushroom nicely.

I shot these out of a 300win mag this year: 480 yard shot on an average size cow, through shoulder, out the ribs. She flipped over backwards, the proceed to roll 500 yards down a canyon. Seems to work pretty well for me😃. The BC on the 200gr bullet seems legit based on my testing.

500 yards after the shot?? What a failure!

I’m pretty sure gravity did most of the work moving that elk, might of been on its feet a total of 2 times the entire trip down...😃. I just keep thinking, please stop, please stop, and she finally got caught by a big rock

I was ribbin' you a bit there. Unless you climbed up there to get to her, watching her roll down, and down, and down, and down sounds very disheartening.
