Need some help here selecting a Red Dot for my AR-15.Flat top rail with no sights.Presently have a 1/2" riser on the rail and a Weaver 2-7x scope with low mounts and it is a tad too low. The scope is too long for me and is heavier than I want to put on the rifle. So I want to switch to a Red Dot. Getting specs on most, that tells me how high above the rail the center line of the dot, is hard to come by.. I can't figure out the ones that say "1/3 low witness" .Does that add height? Most of the explanation on that deals with seeing the iron sights which I don't have. Is there a common standard on red dots height from top of rail to center line?
My budget is $150 Max. I don't do competition. Most will be shooting at the range with some coyote hunting maybe thrown in. Personal home protection if it ever comes to that.
Doug Palmer at Camera Land has given me some Sightmark options, but I still don't have the height specs. The Vortex Crossfire Red Dot ($150) shows two options with a skeletonized mount. No specs on height though.
Thanks in advanced

They are not all the same from mfg to mfg but co-witness puts the center of the red dot roughly on the same plane as the iron sights which are 1.41” tall.
Lower 1/3rd raises the center of the red dot to anywhere from 1.52-1.69” which allows a clearer view through the dot but keeps the irons in the lower 1/3rd of the tube.
