I already derailed the thread enough but...... ya gotta read the habitat and read the season, read your senses, be quiet and be patient, and search. Ya gotta know all about what you seek. Once I drove 2,053 miles to find a Connecticut warbler, drove over half of Minnesota in June. Finally found one in the state park that lies between Warroad and Red Lake (Bemidji Island?). On the way I seen Lake Superior from the high ground above Duluth, from where the shoreline looks just like the maps. Seen the Boundary Waters, seen the Rainy River (flows west!) and seen Lake of the Woods at a season when first light was around 4am. I ain’t ever likely to go shoot a moose in Alaska but I imagine the takeaway is much the same, in the end it doesn’t matter all that much if you shoot a moose or not. Lots of mosquitoes too.

I took this sport up a couple months ago and I couldn't believe the number of parallels between hunting and shooting.
I play four to five days a week since the Believers shut down my local USPSA. It has been a fine substitute.
Does anybody else here love golf? guy from chicago moves to florida and takes up golf. unprecedented. now he's an expert on the outdoors. What does Al Capone have to do with golf? I thought he was as bad at golf as he was about STD prevention.
