Did he run it for about 30 mins down the road at least. Get it good and hot at high speed? And put it up on the lift afterwards. Check schit out. Gasket leaks, boots, input,output seals, exhaust, hidden body repair, brake line system, frame. Some buyers might be really surprised on what they see if they know anything about vehicles. Then dealers start humming and hawing when that happens. Cause the vast majority of people never inspect the underside of a used vehicle and dealers know that.
6 yr old Fwd vehicle in snow and salt country. Needs an underside look big time. Top side inspecting is for looks. Detailed cleaning can make a engine compartment look wonderous. Dealers know that big time.... Certified preowned deal??? Did he do any back and forth negotiating about price. Was 7500 the asking price or the negotiated down price??? I hope he didnt pay full blown retail resale for it... Did he buy it flat out for her???
Did it get some sort of warranty or an option to purchase one?
Hope she got some driving experience this year. And not on the learning curve with winter coming up. Maybe should have got her a old 1500 buck truck, put some good aggresive sneakers on it and held off till spring for something nice like that.

But teenagers ( especially teen girls) want something nice and fall in love with the 1st car on a lot that catches their eye. BTDT.. Its hard to talk sense into them at times and sometimes it aint worth trying to discuss anything practical to em and just get the check book out to get it over with.....
Gawd I'm glad I'm done with all of that with my 3 daughters. Their mother on the otherhand..... Garanfuggingteed she will stove up a new car within 6 months in some way minor or major. JFC.........
If that is a Ford Taurus we have owned two of them since 2008 purchased new one ran it until 140,000 miles most dependable car we have ever purchased.Wife wanted another Taurus so we purchased a nice used 2018 model last year with 12,000 miles on the OD.So far so good with 23,000 miles.Good luck..
