Fun thread!

I get a rare opportunity to play the (relatively) new TPC Colorado course next week - a client of ours is taking me for a round out of appreciation. The public is generally not allowed in the course so I am pretty pumped. I am too cheap to pay the $25,000 initiation fee and monthly truck payment to be a member. The tee box is a mile or so from my front door though, so I crash the putting greens weekly.

I am also working the Korn Ferry tour and LPGA events next year out there just for fun. Volunteering for PGA events kicks ass, if you are a real golf fan.

And, Patrick Reed is in 6th place currently in this weeks PGA event, if he goes top 10 I'll have a nice ~$2k hit.

Do you ever mention your losses?

as in "And, Patrick Reed is in 6th place currently in this weeks PGA event, if he doesn't go top 10 I'll have a nice $1k loss." Or whatever the loss might be.

Your client is expecting a reach around for the favor . Something tells me since you are such a golf fan that you’ll overachieve . Lol

I did, actually, in a thread just yesterday - look it up. Even posted my general ROI (Return on Investment).

My Patrick Reed bet was a free $40 bet (promo that MGM ran, because they are relatively new in Colorado). He was a long shot at 66-1, if I recall correctly.

I have never made a $1000 bet in my life. I bet for fun, I am profitable, and it is discretionary funds. A $50 bet is RICH for me, but I am good at analytics and sports theory so I tend to do really well.

I always wonder why "conservatives" here question gambling.

As a conservative, I generally NEVER question how another runs their life....

You and me both.

We have a top 100 public course here (Mariana Butte) that is a 5 minute drive from here. That is my home course of choice.

I have no desire to pay massive membership fees for private courses.

Cute.

But, no.

Client is deploying a brand new, massive nationwide 5G wireless network and I did some consulting for them on how to implement their broadband 911.

So, golf round of the year for me! I've dined at the course and toured it as a future volunteer...... but playing it is going to be awesome.

Didn't see your post yesterday. Oops???

if you're happy gambling, I see no problem with it.

I'm not into "sports gambling" though, there's nothing there I have any control over. And too many things, even with "analytics" and such, that can go wrong. The proverbial "bad bounce" of the puck off the glass stanchion and there goes a sure win. Scheidt lke that.

A single deck blackjack game is a different story though, or should I say "was", back when I could remember every card that had been played. I could hold my own "gambling" like that. Folks in other chairs could sure screw up the game though.

I hope Mr Reed does well for your sake. If not, discretionary money is just that.

Well, as you "are not into sports gambling" it is humorous that you have an opinion on it. And your reply makes it clear you really don't even understand the science of it.

Reply when you understand the importance of the numbers 3 and 7 in NFL spreads, or 41 in O/U bets.

Plenty of folks like me are math idiots and sports fans who are very profitable in sports betting...

Even if you have no clue.

It’s been obvious for quite some time you have no clue . Go ahead and keep spewing your gibberish . You’re fooling at least half.

You make a lot of assumptions.

Again, I have no issues with what you do.

My opinion of it is that it's not for me. (hence "I'm not into "sports gambling" though, there's nothing there I have any control over.")

Some evenings you really do make it hard to get along with you.

What about my post do you disagree with?

Be specific!
