Hello everyone! I have not been active on here is some years (!) but I saw this on youtube and wondered what everyone thought of it: FWIW - I have no connection with this guy. The liberals of New York taxed and regulated them out of existence. Too bad for the families who will be affected. I certainly hope they can recover and get back to work. kwg

Ilion is just a small town. Basically built around Remington. This will really hurt Ilion and it's residents.

My brother lives in that area and I know a few people who work/have worked at Remington (or "The Arms" as they call it in the Mohawk Valley.) The only thing that surprises me about this is that it took so long. When Remington started bouncing around from holding company to holding company the die was cast. Then they got a union in there (The United Mine Workers IIRC, what the hell?). The plant is an old, inefficient manufacturing facility that could probably never be made competitive. The workforce has been swimming in uncertainty for years. It's bad enough that the state political leadership sees manufacturing as something to be bled dry...they're downright hostile to the firearms industry. If the new ownership want to make firearms, they should set up shop in South Carolina.
