I have a Ruger Hawkeye in 375 Ruger, I believe it is the African model, It has a Pachmyr Decelerator and mercury reducer in the stock. Beautiful rifle that I bought used and never fired, doesn’t appear to be used hardly at all.

$800 shipped in the CONUS

Bump for a sweet rifle. I had no need of a .375 Ruger, but it intrigued me all the same. Ended up buying a Hawkeye African here on the Fire. It's a hoot! I'm still playing with loads for it, but a 235 grain Speer Hot Core over Trail Boss is a pussy cat quite capable of medium game. The .375 is an amazingly versatile round for a hand loader. Somebody should grab this.

I'd take it if I didn't already have one. I carry the same here in Alaska and I love it. Plenty gun for anything that walks the face of the earth. Barnes 270 grain bullets puts things down very quickly. Dang thing shoots as well as any of my varmint rifles. Maybe I need a spare, I'll keep an eye on this thread.

Someday someone may kill you with your own gun, but they should have to beat you to death with it because it is empty.

I bought the rifle thinking it would be nice to have, just in case I needed it. But, I stumbled upon a nice Ruger No1 in 375 H&H. And do. Or need both. My plan for the Hawkeye and the No 1 is mostly the same.

And I should be more clear, I am interested in 375 Win, 45 Long Colt, 38-55 35 Remington lever actions. It does have to be equal in price we can make up the difference with cash on either side.

Thank you for the bumps.

I think your rifle is the standard Model 77 not the African model which has a black forend tip. Take a look at the picture on the Ruger website.

I agree, I do not believe it is the African, just the Hawkeye.

I started looking into this a little more and my understanding is that it is an early model African. The forend tip and muzzle breaks came on more recent models.

Here is one of the links:

I agree this is an early African M77 HAWKEYE.

I shouldn't have sold the one I had!

Also possibly interested in a 6.5x55 or 9.3x62 rifle.

It’s definitely an early Hawkeye African model. Bought one when they first came out - great rifle.

The ones with the black forend tips were the Express models. I don’t think those were chambered in 375 Ruger, like this one is.

Great price for a great rifle. Good luck with the sale.
