I have a couple of thousand of the federal Fusion 62 grain

I've shot a couple hundred but the best I can get as 1.5 M0A been reading how they like slower speeds with best accuracy from them between 2600 to 2700 feet per second.
I'm having a hard time finding Reloading Data going that low I have varget, h4198, and h4895 powder.

The best option I can think of is h4895 reduced to about 21 grains which is below listed data. I know h4895 can safely be reduced to 60% of max, anybody have any other thoughts.

The H4895 reduction is definitely your best option.

I have also achieved those speeds easily with IMR 4064

Slowed down to those speeds a well constructed bullet like the fusion can be "fur Friendly"..

I would like to help. I think that your main problem is called "MARKETING". Federal is the loaded ammo side of Speer bullets. Federal 62gr Fusions bullets are Speer 62gr Gold Dots. The loaded ammo went over so well that Speer started selling the bullets under the Federal brand. Also you need to call them .224 bullets as 223 bullets are for old 22 Hornet barrels that were made from 22 rim fire barrels. You never said what cartridge you are using and what your barrel lenght is and if you have a cromo and know the speed from your gun.

Well I know they're .224 bullets and that they were made by speer. I'm loading them for a .223 rem 18-inch barrel 1 in 7 twist. I have a crony and have been running them around 2850 up to almost 3,000 results have been about the same for all those, no pressure signs accuracy 1.5 to 2.5 Moa I've been reading where they perform a little better accuracy wise if you don't push him so fast that's why I'm asking about a lower velocity load and if anybody knows of some other than the reduced h4895 with the powders I have available at this time.

I have found Varget rarely gets published speed in a 24” tube so that would get you close starting load is 2740. Only other option would be 335. Starting gives 2678 according to Hodgdon, they don’t say but imagine it’s a 24” test barrel. Here’s Speer 13 data. They used a 22” Ruger 77.

Speer has load data for the bullet with a 223Rem on their site. Their data is for a 24" and adjusted for 18" you are running (at 2850 fps) right at their max loads. Any of Speers starting loads adj. for 18" should be in the area of 2600/2625fps. Just load up from the starting load till you get the load you want.

Go to this page:

https://www.speer.com/reloading/rifle-data.html

Scroll down until you see the data for the Speer Gold Dot 62 grain in both 223 and 5.56, and click on those. Use that data. Fusions don't develop pressure the same way as other bullets, but I've had zero issues pushing them hard for accuracy. The very top end loads, running into the mid-60's PSI have not been the most accurate, but I've found best accuracy ABOVE the top end loads for the 223 (MAP 55K PSI), and sometimes above the data for the 5.56. I work up though. Many newer powders exhibit the best accuracy at 60K PSI or higher.

of that page from the Speer Manual...I'd go with the max load for 2015 BR....

I'm a big fan of AA 2015, 2230 and 2460. I have had good accuracy with those powders in barrels from 16 to 22 inches. I have to do some simple math to get an estimate of their speed since I don't have a chrono.

kwg:

21 grains of 2015, and you're there...

22 grains of 3031 looks real good for a choice also...

21 grains get's me 2600 fps ?? I'm a fan of 3031 as well. I have been shooting 24.2 of 3031 from a Ruger American compact in .223 with great results. That much powder is probably overkill ?? It's a load I use in AR's and mini 14's.

its not overkill... you can't get enough 3031 in a 223 case with 55 grain bullets to over pressurize it..

I normally run 25 to 25.5 if I want to maximize it for velocity... and its "never not" accurate .. as stumpy would describe it...
