He’s been a regular on the trail cam during the morning for weeks but between work, wind, and wife I’d only been able to hunt evenings until Saturday. He came out 10 minutes after shooting hours ended 3 weeks ago and seemed to smell me at 48 yards. Best buck I’ve had a lead on in 6 years so I’m pretty pumped to get him down. This is the third year I’ve had pics of him, not sure but I think he’s probably 4.5 yo, possibly 5.5. The field pics didn’t turn out great so I added the trail cam pics that show his length better.

I’m an unapologetic crossbow user😀 Mission sub one Xbow with Montec G5 100 grain broadhead. I’ve only shot 3 deer with the xbow, but was surprised this guy made it 250 yards (measured on aerial map) after a clean double lung hit. He left very little blood and was not easy to follow. Had he not run along the edge of a bean field where I could follow his tracks he would have been tough to find. I was able to spot him with binoculars laying out in the grass to save the last 60 yards of tracking. For those who care, his g2s are 13 and 13.5, G3’s 11 and 9.5, and inside spread was 19.5. I asked the taxidermist to score him and haven’t heard back. My rough measurements say he’ll beat 150 but maybe not 155.
