Some may remember that one of the Henry SSs I sent back for the recall was damaged on the return trip, not much cosmetically, but accuracy went all to Hell. They provided me with a prepaid return label, and back it went. Had no news for four weeks, so I call CS to see what was up. The lady told me it was at the test range that very minute. Kept checking the CS ticket online for info, but even this morning there was nothing there.
The brown truck just dropped my rifle off. The ticket says they replaced the barrel and adjusted the lockup. They also installed a scope rail and left it in place, a good thing since the old one is at my gunsmith’s being installed on the .410. Gonna remount the V7 and give it a go later this week. The ticket says it shot 1” with Fed 175gr match ammo. I have some targets from it prior to the whoopsie that are somewhat better than that, with a 2.5x scope, but an inch will do just fine.
Other than the lack of communication, I’m pretty pleased.

I'm glad that everything came back and is now in working order. You will have to let us know how it shoots.

When I took the .410 in for drilling and tapping, the smith had another one in for a trigger job. Said he didn’t know yet what he was going to do with it. He thought the re-worked one on my shotgun was very nice.
I’ll bet the word is finally out on the recall, and together with the usual hunting season rush, they’re swamped.

Good to hear you got your rifle back, I bet it shoots good as I have found Henry's CS to be excellent...I sent My Henry 12ga off in the prepaid Henry box two weeks ago, I expect to hear something soon.....Good luck at the range Pappy 👍......Hb

Thanks.
Not sure, but seems like the trigger is better than the original re-work. Checked it twice with my Lyman. 3# 11oz & 3# 12oz. Seems crisper. Definitely usable.

Yeah the trigger in my 12ga was horrible, I think it broke @7lbs with my Lyman guage so I had My gunsmith work on it and he got it down to 4.25lbs with no creep...very useable 👍......Hb

They responded to me within hours, too. But that was back in August. When I shipped it to Henry It went like this: UPS got it on 9/2, it arrived at Henry 9/4, and I got it back on 9/15. I'd bet that they probably are pretty swamped by now because the word's gotten out more since August when I started the process.

A couple of you have me bum fuzzled. No judgement on my end but why are you putting scopes on 410 shotguns?

I bought the .410 for TSS turkey loads, which pattern really tightly, plus I have some slugs, PD buckshot, and rubber buckshot loads to try. All those loads are aimed, not pointed. My gun came with a Full tube, but I also bought a Turkey choke and a Skeet. Henry choke tubes are made by Briley.

I called them today and a very friendly lady apologized and advised she would push it through. About 30 minutes later I received an email that my case was approved and a shipping box with label is on its way.

That would have been Tracy, IIRC. Nice lady, even though she’s in NJ. Was very helpful during the recent unpleasantness.

Had a pretty quick turn around with mine. Sent the request in three or four days after the recall came out. Got a quick response. Box was about two weeks in coming. Sent it in and had the rifle back in two weeks. Trigger was just over 3 lbs. Haven't taken it apart to see what the spring is or whether it could be made lighter. Maybe after deer season.

There does not seem to be anything wrong with mine, but it would be nice to have a lighter trigger, for sure.

My rifle arrived yesterday and, as noted above, has a very crisp 3# trigger. What A difference. Time to remount the scope and take it out.
