I should be getting my Kevin Weaver Pre-64 350 Rem Mag this week. I had him put a 24 in Lilja barrel 12 twist on it with a long throat in a D'Arcy Echols stock. My goal is to be able to seat the bullets out so that I can use the available powder space. I plan to use the 225 Nosler Accubond, I also have a supply of about 200 275 grain barnes originals. I have lots of RL-15 has anyone played with it to maybe give me a good starting spot and what I should expect. I am planning on starting with Nosler 35 Whelen loads to start.
Thanks ahead of time.

I wish I could tell you what was a standby but I have used the factory loads. I got them in trades. I have cases bullets and dies but haven't loaded any yet. Guess I need to start. Good luck and Be Well.

Sounds like a beautiful rifle. Kevin does excellent work.

I’d say you’re doing fine using Whelen load data and you should be able to have one heckuva rifle with the way you set it up.

I used to use 60.0 grains of R15 with a 225 gr Woodleigh RNSP bullet. Very good accuracy out of my Rem custom shop KS Model 7. 20" barrel.
Don't know the velocity.

Have since switched to 62.0 grains of TAC and 200 gr Barnes TSX. That load is giving me 2842 fps.

Thanks ahead of time.[/quoteYou have put a lot of thought in this and will be a fine rifle. I had a 358 Norma on a pre-64 was my main guiding rifle for 25 years, the 275 & 300 Barnes were my main bullet until I was given a couple of boxes of 280 Swift A Frames and switched over.

H-4895 was my powder for the Norma but it is gone now and a 35 Gibbs has taken it's spot. RL-15 works perfectly and my 24" barrel mirror's the velocity of the 20" Norma.. I'm getting 2700fps with Speer 250's and 2430 with280 Swift's. Both loads show 0 signs of pressure to my eye,,

Actually that is my goal by being able to load my 350 long I'm hoping that my velocities with the 24 inch barrel will just about match what your getting with your gibbs, maybe a little less but I don't think an elk or bear would know the difference. I have about four pounds of RL 15 so I hope it is the ticket.
