Seriously Skeeter is responsible for my attraction and use of Composite & S S rifles or guns in gen.
I got my copy of this and took its pic. 1980 !

Skeeter had a REAL impact on me per handguns. After following him I had to have a SW 4" M 19
couldn't find a 5" er. lol

Bill Jordan also was very influential as well.

In that Annual Skeeter said, "You can't beat Rubber and SS for durability for Handguns!"

IF I can find that I'll quote it in a pic.

IF, and he was right, that's true per handguns.....it's true for rifles as well.
I miss that Guy!

YMMV

Skeeter Skelton influenced me too.

He influenced me to buy a 5" S&W 27 and to want a S&W N-frame revolver chambered in .44 Special. I was influenced to buy a S&W 624 as soon as they were available which I promptly sent to Ahlman's in Morristown, MN, to have the barrel trimmed back to 5".

There was a lot to like about Skeeter Skelton's writing. He gave practical advice about practical handguns that was written in a way that anyone could understand, plus I really liked his "Joe and Me" stories. Skeeter Skelton and Rick Jamison wrote the articles that I turned to first when my monthly copy of Shooting Times arrived.

I was a follower of both John Wooters and Skeeter Skelton. I loaded many with loads both published. Skeet is why I am a great fan of the 357 and the 45 LC. Wooters haunts me because I have yet to build a 25-222.
