Hi guys,

So I was wondering anyone's thought on why Hornady offers loaded ammo in .405 Winchester, but they don't offer empty brass. Why is that?
They have other fairly obscure cases like .17 Hornet, but no .405 cases.

Yes, I know I can buy loaded ammo, shoot it, and now magically have .405 brass. But I generally would rather buy empty brass if I can.

Tahnks for any thoughts or possible reasons.

Maybe they make more selling loaded ammo than components.

They discontinued brass a good while ago. I doubt brass or .405 ammo has ever been a big seller.

People who have original 1895 winchesters and reproduction 1895's just buy a few boxes of factory ammo. The people who want brass are buying it for conversion to 40-70 SS and there ain't no money in that for Hornady so they don't give a fug about selling small lots of brass that could be made into $50/box ammo.
