It won't happen right away. First there will be the crippling taxes on magazines, ammunition, reloading components, and semi auto rifles. Then will be a move toward a cashless society and some kind of chip or card to track every transaction. It won't matter if you have a million dollars cash in your safe, or gold for that matter. You won't be able to spend it. Then the firearms restrictions will roll out. Those not in compliance will find their power and heat turned off along with their internet and phone service. Their bank accounts will be locked and or seized and children removed from the home for their safety. Won't need to fire a shot to have the majority of Americans hauling their guns to the the drop off points by the arm loads. Some law enforcement will refuse to participate. They will be replaced by ones who will. Despots have never lacked for enforcers.
Chronographs, bore scopes and pattern boards have broke a lot of hearts.

But easy to put a few in the ground. Most "gunowners" will whimper and give up after seeing a little bit of force.... actually, most will probably give up just after the threat of force. Only a few will have the resolve to stand and fight... and they'll probably be dealt with one at a time.
