Having not traveled out of USA, my question is do other countries see and have liberals on one side and conservatives on the other? When I ask I mean like we have here in America?

I think it is only the US where the term "liberal" is used as the name for an ideology which is more or less the opposite of "liberal" as the term is understood in the rest of the world. Here in Oz we have a Liberal Party, which in fact is in government federally and in several States. Our Liberal Party has two broad factions: classical Liberal ("wets") and conservative ("dries"). Currently, and for the last couple of decades, the conservative faction has been in the ascendant. They are not at all like your "liberals".
The other major party here is Labor, which is centre left. We also have a few other smaller parties which have a few seats in various governments, such as the Greens (left), One Nation (right wing, nationalist) and the SFFP (Shooters, Farmers and Fishers Party) which has seats in a number of States Governments and, as the name suggests, advocates for the interests of shooters, farmers and fishers, and tends to be pretty conservative in other areas.

Liberal means a lot of things up here. The BC Liberal party for instance is very conservative.
Federally though the terms fit. The federal Liberal party is left of center for sure, or progressive as they like to say. And the federal Conservative party is as the name implies right of center and indeed conservative. The two parties are fairly fierce opponents although nothing like the US. As far as Joe public goes Liberals and Conservatives tolerate each other for the most part and friendships are not uncommon. Also its fairly normal for people to vote back and forth depending on the times and who's who. Different kettle of fish for sure.

Don't forget the NDP who are IMHO, evil incarnate although I would sooner burn in HELL than vote Liberal. Although you are right, there are many who vote Lib one time and Con the next back and forth. Often though, they aren't gun owners. Jeff

The NDP is to the left of the federal Liberals. Liberals campaign on the left, frequently stealing NDP policies , then govern in the dead center. Pragmatism comes before ideology. The Conservatives in Canada are to the left of the most of the Democrats.
In Canada you don't get elected if you stray to far off center.
