Jake rents shed space for one wagon, and the combine. I drove the combine four miles, talk about tire loop.

Very intelligent method of moving non-powered vehicles into place.

Jake has a 60x 102 shed, it will not hold all his machinery.

I shed everything with an engine.

But can't even come close with all the other equipment without building another couple of equipment sheds.

I can get everything but my disk and a field cultivator in my shed that size. Can't get much else in there tho. smile

Well the 60' and 70' augers don't get in there either.

I had a great-uncle who was a multi-millionaire. He was very smart when it came to making money, but dumb as a box of rocks mechanically speaking. He'd leave his riding mower and garden tiller sitting outside, sometimes covering them with an old piece of carpet. I tried telling him that the carpet got wet, stayed wet, and did more damage than good. There is no telling how many lawnmowers he bought. They wouldn't wear out, they'd rust out.

I keep all my tractors shedded, along with anything else that has an engine. My hay equipment is also kept under roof, along with sprayer and bush hogs. I've got an old 3 bottom plow, a chisel plow, some trailers, and a couple of discs that set out. I didn't always have space to put everything, but I'm trying to remedy that in my old age. My son and I are talking about putting up a building that will hold more equipment and some hay rolls. We just can't agree on where to put it.

We need a grain bin, tear down some old lined wire cribs. What to do with what is in them?

I have a small amount of equipment to store in relation to what most of y'all have. That said, several years ago I'd saved up and built a 50x30 metal building with 12' roll up doors on each end to drive straight through and a 7' roll up door on one end. On each side I put 10' wide lean to's.

If I had it to do over again I'd make those lean to's as wide as I could....the best bang for the $ and easy to get to. Like most things I don't know until after I know.

Jake unhooks the batteries on the combine, just in case.
