Just sitting yesterday evening watching as the deer started rutting in the past couple of days...

Didn't see a shooter, but took the opportunity to video this one eyed 8 point chasing does.

Video sux because it was too dark to shoot with daylight only, and too light to get clear night vision video... But I think you get the idea... smile

Have some better bucks in the area, and hopefully I can score one before too long. wink

Are the deer rutting where you are?

I saw bucks chasing does about two weeks ago, but then it got hot and movement got slow. Our rut usually is at it's peak the week before Thanksgiving. I shot this guy last night and he stunk to high heaven and his neck was pretty swollen. I think it's a go.

No rut here yet it's 90 deg. almost every day, wish it would cool off, almost no deer movement. Rio7

Hot here too, Blue. Close to 90*...

Was surprised to see them moving last evening.

Had about 35 deer all around me.

They aren't rutting hard, but are thinking about it.

Shot a buck this past Monday about a minute after he hopped off a doe.

They have been chasing does for the past three days. Gun opener today saw seven deer, two small bucks. The six point was chasing three does.

Oh yea, it is on big time. Lots of chasing going on this week. Deer are moving good after this last tropical storm passed through. Our local deer processor reported very good numbers today. I am surprised at how well they are moving, considering how warm it is.

Spotted a big doe yesterday, slipping across a pipeline, obviously on a mission to evade something. Sure enough, a basket rack buck pops out about 4 minutes later, running up and down the line with his nose to the ground, like a dog that dropped his treat. He found the trail, turned 90 degrees, and took off after her. Always fun to watch.

Now with even more aplomb
